About Basic Web Utils

Basic Web Utils is a growing collection of small, free web tools. Each one does a single job, runs entirely in your browser, and asks nothing of you. No account to create. Nothing to install. Open the tool, do the thing, close the tab.

It started with a small annoyance

You get a genuinely good answer from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. A plan, a recipe, meeting notes, a study sheet. Then you try to send it to someone, and it falls apart: the formatting breaks, stray symbols appear everywhere, and what looked polished in the chat window turns into a wall of text.

Our first tool, Chat to Page, fixes exactly that. Paste your AI answer, pick one of the hand-crafted themes, and download a clean, self-contained web page or PDF you'd actually be happy to send someone. It takes seconds, and it's free.

That's the pattern for everything we build here: find a small, common annoyance and remove it. There's no suite to learn and no dashboard to manage. Just simple tools that work the first time.

The rules we build by

• Private by architecture. Everything happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored. That's not a policy we could quietly change later; it's how the tools are built. There is no server waiting for your data.
• No friction. No login, no sign-up, no email address. The tool is the whole product, and you can use it the moment the page loads.
• Free. The tools cost nothing to use and will stay that way. To cover our costs, we may eventually show a few ads on guide pages, but never inside a tool and never in anything you download.
• One job, done well. Every tool solves one problem. If it needs a manual, we've failed.

How the privacy promise actually works

Our tools are ordinary web pages. When you paste text into Chat to Page, all the work happens on your own device: your browser styles the page and builds the file you download. Your text never travels across the internet. That's why we can make the privacy promise with a straight face: the promise is a property of the design, not a pledge we hope to keep.
