PDF TOOL
Compress a PDF — without uploading it anywhere
Got a PDF that's too big for an upload form? Make it smaller right in your browser. No upload, no watermark, no account needed.
Everything happens in your browser — nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored.
The 2 MB problem
You're filling out a government form, a job application, or an insurance claim. The upload field says "PDF, max 2 MB" — and your scanned document is 15 MB.
So you search for "compress PDF" and find sites that ask you to upload your document to their servers. Your tax return, your medical records, your contract — uploaded to a company you've never heard of.
How it works
1
Drop your PDF
Drag a file or click to browse. The document opens right in your browser — no upload.
2
Choose your target
Pick a quality level, or tell us "get it under 2 MB" and we'll find the best setting.
3
Download the smaller PDF
Text stays selectable, links work, no watermark. Upload it to your form.
What you can do
Target a specific size
Need it under 2 MB? 5 MB? Tell us the limit and we'll find the best quality that fits.
Text stays text
We never convert pages to images. Text remains selectable, searchable, and accessible.
Honest results

Common questions
Does my PDF get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser. Your document never leaves your device. You can even turn off your internet after the page loads and the tool will still work.
Why did my PDF barely shrink?
PDFs that are mostly text are already compact — there's genuinely little to compress. Scanned and image-heavy documents shrink dramatically; text documents don't. The tool tells you which situation you're in rather than pretending otherwise.
Can I get my PDF under 2 MB for an upload form?
Yes. Use the "Get it under…" option and select 2 MB (or enter a custom size). The tool will automatically find the best quality setting that keeps your file under the limit.
Will the text still be selectable?
Yes. The tool never converts pages to images. Text remains selectable and searchable, and links and bookmarks are preserved. This is also why the output remains accessible to screen readers.
